A Valentine

And cannot pleasures, while they last,
Be actual unless, when past,
They leave us shuddering and aghast,

The lover, if for certain days
His fair one be denied his gaze,
Sinks not in grief and wild amaze,
But, wiser wooer,
He spends the time in writing lays,
And posts them to her.

And if the verse flow free and fast,
Till even the poet is aghast,
A touching Valentine at last
The post shall carry,
When thirteen days are gone and past
Of February.

Farewell, dear friend, and when we meet,
In desert waste or crowded street,
Perhaps before this week shall fleet,
Perhaps to-morrow.

One of my fav poems from master Carroll. The Game of Fives my favorite ultimate, but neh, it's going to be Valentine's promptly and I had nothing in my mind, except these two. Two of the top five on my list of fave chars from the Harry Potter books: Remus Lupin and Sirius Black.
I'm a strong supporter of RL/SS cos they just look SO GOOD togehter!
Remus is kind of the ultimate representation of what I want a man to be like, and Sirius...well, he's Sirius.
I kind of like how Sirius came out; Jo says he was the best looking of all the Marauders, and well, theat's what I think good-looking...looks like. Remus on the other hand, well..he0s a (SPOILER) werewolf, so by logic he can't be [that] good looking, but nobody ever said he can't be cute. I love his nose, his hair, his scar...Remus my love! !!
*Ahem ahem* Well, that's about it.
